They are also dealing with pressing socio-economic issues that are putting strain on their front line staff who support the most vulnerable people in society. The Labour Market Group of Lanark-Renfrew invites elected officials and municipal government workers to a half day discussion and learning session focused on developing strategies to support labour force attraction within the municipal government sector.  \nA special presentation by the CEO of Abacus Data\, David Coletto\, will set the stage for the day.   \nGuest Speaker David Coletto gives insights on\, “Leading Through The Scarcity Mindset and What it Means for Rural and Small Town Communities”   \nIn this data-filled\, engaging presentation\, Dr. David Coletto\, one of Canada’s top pollsters and CEO of Abacus Data\, breaks down how a new\, more intense scarcity mindset is impacting the workforce and consumer market as well as demands of residents\, with a focus on its impact on rural and small town communities.   \nThrough his expert analysis\, derived from polling thousands of Canadians weekly\, Coletto provides an incisive look at the current socio-economic landscape shaped by the growing challenges in accessing essential services like healthcare\, housing\, food\, and energy\, and unveils how a burgeoning scarcity mindset is reshaping expectations and behaviours across Canada.   \nKey learning objectives include:   \n\nUnderstand the emerging scarcity mindset: Gain insights into how and why Canadian consumer and worker expectations are shifting towards a scarcity mindset and the impact this has on their behaviour.  \n\n\nAnalyze the influence of zero-sum thinking: Explore how zero-sum thinking is influencing  behaviour and decision-making\, providing a new lens through which to view market dynamics.  \n\n\nStrategize for impact: Learn how to adapt your strategies to effectively engage with consumers and stakeholders in a landscape marked by increased scarcity and competition.  \n\n REGISTER HERE \nAgenda   \n8:30am – Welcome and networking   \n9:00 am – Guest Speaker David Coletto    \n10:00 am – Round table Discussion/Strategy Development  \n11:30 am – Closing Remarks   \nRead David Coletto’s Bio \nDavid Coletto is CEO and a founding partner of Abacus Data a full-service market research and strategy firm based in Ottawa and Toronto. SUMMARY:Renfrew Community Labour Market Consultation
DESCRIPTION:You’re Invited to a Labour Market Community Consultation Led by the Labour Market Group of Renfrew and Lanark Counties   \nThe labour market is changing rapidly with new trends that have evolved since we spoke last year. Canada’s unemployment rate is gradually increasing\, particularly for young people\, but there continues to be widespread labour shortages in some sectors\, such as health care.   Inflation has been slowed\, but the cost of living remains high for housing and food\, resulting in more labour disruptions as collective bargaining focuses on the rising cost of living.    \nJoin the Renfrew-Lanark Labour Market Working Group for one of four community consultations as we tackle the tough questions of how rural areas can address their workforce needs now and into the future.   \nREGISTER HERE
