The labour market is changing rapidly with new trends that have evolved since we spoke last year. Canada’s unemployment rate is gradually increasing, particularly for young people, but there continues to be widespread labour shortages in some sectors, such as health care.
Inflation has been slowed, but the cost of living remains high for housing and food, resulting in more labour disruptions as collective bargaining focuses on the rising cost of living.
