Today, the Labour Market Group of Renfrew and Lanark (LMG) launched its’ annual EmployerOne Survey in Renfrew and Lanark Counties and it will run through to February 26th, 2021. This survey targets Renfrew and Lanark businesses in order to identify their workforce needs and challenges. While there have been multiple provincial and national surveys, this is the only survey providing local information to inform local services and job seekers.
The 2020-2021 EmployerOne survey will look a little different than in previous years. The Labour Market Group of Renfrew and Lanark has joined with other Workforce Development Boards in Eastern Ontario to conduct a common survey. Each board will be working hard to connect with their local businesses to generate a response rate that provides meaningful results locally as well as provide a perspective on workforce development across Eastern Ontario.
With the support of the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development, EmployerOne Survey results will be shared with employers, educators, employment support agencies, economic developers, job seekers and industry associations to provide a better understanding of occupational shortages, skills in demand and professional development requirements that help shape programming and training.
The EmployerOne Survey can be accessed until February 26th, 2021 at www.employeronesurvey.com. Employers who complete the survey are entered for a chance to win one of thirty $100 gift cards (three draws held every two weeks starting January 18th, 2021) and one of two $500 grand prize draws (draw on March 1st, 2021).
“When we’re talking about solving those workforce shortages in small communities, it is critical to know which jobs are in demand so that groups can really invest in targeting the right worker at the right time,” said Chela Breckon of With Chela Inc. “Tools like the EmployerOne Survey are critical for every small business to respond to”.
